Printmakers are cordially invited to submit their work to the fifth open National Print Exhibition to be held at the Mall Galleries in central London in February 1998.

Organised by the Federation of British Artists (FBA), in conjunction with the Royal Society of Painter~Printmakers (RE), this open exhibition has become an increasingly popular and important event in the printmaking calendar, attracting an abundance of artists' submissions and visitors from all over the country.

Several thousand pounds worth of artists' awards are very generously sponsored by companies from the printmaking world such as:
Arcturus Fine Art, Artichoke Print Workshop, Autotype International, R.K. Burt & Company Ltd., Fabriano Paper Mill, Galleries Magazine, T.N. Lawrence Ltd., Gavin Graham Gallery, Printmaking Today, John Purcell Paper, St. Cuthberts Paper Mill, Whatman International, Zenith Gallery. The Gwen May RE Commemorative Award,The Julian Trevelyan Hon. RE Memorial Award, The Joseph Webb ARE Commemorative Fund Award.

The exhibition is open for all artists to submit up to 6 prints at £7.50 each, although artists should note that no unframed work will be accepted, and that frames should be of a professional standard. Aluminium frames will be permitted on condition that they are wired.

CONDITIONS

Artists may submit up to SIX prints, at a fee of £7.50 per entry, although the maximum number of works which will be selected is THREE.

All printmaking methods are eligible, however, artists should note that no unframed work will be accepted, although available unframed editions may be listed in the catalogue if the necessary information is supplied. Frames and mounts MUST be of a professional standard. Aluminium frames will be permitted on condition that they are wired.

All work must be accompanied by an entry schedule which can be obtained from the address given above and clearly labelled. You are advised to read the blue sheet of conditions which will be attached.

You are also advised to include your date of birth as several awards have age restrictions, and unless your age is given you will be judged ineligible.

The dates given above are the ONLY days that work can be received or collected from the FBA offices at 17 Carlton House Terrace.

All prints must be for sale.

THE WHATMAN INTERNATIONAL PAPER AWARD
Paper to the value of £250 awarded to an outstanding printmaker under 30.

JOHN PURCELL PAPER AWARDS
Paper to the value of £125 awarded to two outstanding printmakers.

THE JOSEPH WEBB ARE COMMEMORATIVE FUND AWARD
£250 awarded to an outstanding student of etching under the age of 35.

THE ART REVIEW AWARD
A purchase prize, plus a free subscription and editorial to a printmaker of outstanding merit.

ZENITH GALLERY PURCHASE PRIZE
For the most outstanding work in the exhibition selected by Deborah Roslund.

GAVIN GRAHAM GALLERY AWARD
£250 to an outstanding printmaker.

THE ARCTURUS AWARD
£250 to an outstanding printmaker.
