International exhibition of
Ex-libris "Juraj Klovic' is being organised by
University Library of Rijeka in collaboration with
Tourist Office of Rijeka, Croatian Society of Plastic
Artists Rijeka, under the patronage of County
Primorsko-Goranska and City of Rijeka. The subject of
Ex-libris for this international exhibition is Juraj
Klovic', great master of the miniature, whose 500th
birth aniversary will be celebrated in 1998. Each
Ex-libris has to have as its component the following
text: EX LIBRIS JURAJ KLOVlC' or GlULlO CLOVIO DE
CROATIA and UNIVERSITY LIBRARY OF RIJEKA.
Artists all around the world have
the right to participate in the INTERNATIONAL
EXHIBITION OF EX LIBRIS. Artists can send up to five
Ex libris on the theme, printed on paper whose
dimensions are 15 x 21 cm (A5). Ex-libris can be
carried out in all known graphic techniques. The
Applicant should send two signed and printed
Ex-librises of the each realised plate, together with
filled out application form and all the data on the
back of it, to the following address: University
Library of Rijeka, Dolac 1, 51000 Rijeka, CROATIA, by
15.6.1997. All works that arrive after that date, and
before the actual installing the exhibition, will be
exhibited but not reproduced in the exhibition's
catalogue.
The Jury, composed of experts will
award one prize of 4000,00 kn, and purchasable
awards. The organisers retains the right to reproduce
awarded Ex-libris for posters, invitation cards,
catalogues. All of the arrived Ex- libreses on the
theme of JURAJ KLOVIC' (GIULlO CLOVlO DE CROATIA)
will be reproduced within the exhibition's catalogue.
Artists are entitled to a copy of the catalogue which
will be mailed to them by the organisers, together
with the invitation to the opening of the
INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF EX-LIBRIS. One
proof-sheet of each arrived Ex-libris remains in the
property of UNIVERSITY LIBRARY OF RIJEKA, while the
purchase of the second proof-sheet will settle
expenses of the exhibition, printing and mailing the
catalogue.
