DIRECTIONS TO STUDIO:
Driving
:
- From the South OR SAN FRANCISCO/ Bay Bridge
Take the POWELL STREET EXIT off highway I-550. (It's the first exit off the Bay Bridge going North, the last exit before the Bay Bridge going South, and one exit south of Ashby Avenue exit.)
-Turn onto Powell. (Away from the Bay, towards the hills--that's a right turn if you are going north, i.e., coming from SF or Oakland). You will pass the Emery Bay Market and shopping centers.
-Turn left at the stop light at HOLLIS Street.
-Go down a few blocks, past Bucci's restaurant on the left.
-Turn left on 62ND STREET. The Hollis Street BUILDINGt (studios) is a beige building on the corner with green awnings. The entrance to 1450 (and other street numbers) is there on the NW corner. You will NOT see 1450 outside, 1410 shows to the left of the door with the awning that you enter for my studio. You will see a sign for the Hollis St Building on the building. You MAY also see a KIMONO MY HOUSE sign.
-You will enter that door (glass), (you'll see my name on the directory inside to the left) go up the stairs on the right to the 2nd floor, walk straight down the hall, till you reach 1450, my studio (4 doors) on the right.
-PARKING: Park on the street, anywhere around building on 62nd or Hollis or 63rd, (where it’s not red or green). EXCEPT, If it is a weekday before 5 pm, you cannot park on 62nd St. right in front of building without permit. Across street is ok.

-When the roads split off, don't go on the SF/Oakland Bay bridge, instead, take 880/ 580/80 towards Sacramento and Berkeley. Get to the right ASAP.

Public Transportation
-The studio, called the Hollis Street Building, takes up one block in Emeryville bordered by Hollis Street (which is 7th Street in Berkeley), 62nd Street, 63rd Street and Overland Avenue. The entrance nearest my studio is on 62nd Street right off of Hollis. The neighborhood is very safe and pleasant.
-To get there from BART, take it to the Mac Arthur BART station in Oakland. From there catch the free, "Emery go-round shuttle. It is in front of the Bart station to the right, facing the parking lot. It takes 15 minutes to get to my studio on the Hollis Line (Post Office stop, 59th St. or 64th St). Call the Emery go-round HOTLINE at 510-596-3725 for the latest schedules or check the web.
-The "Post Office" stop is at 62nd and Hollis. The building is across the street.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTION
BART and Buses
Take BART to the MacArthur Station in Oakland. There you can find the Emery-Go-Round, a free modern shuttle that stops a block or so from my studio on Hollis at 59th. You can also get off at 64th, but walking from 59th is nice. Returning, the shuttle stops right in front of my studio, on Hollis St. between 63rd and 62nd. You can check out the schedules for the Hollis Route at the Emery-go-round site, click here. Public buses also connect to BART and one runs down Hollis.
